The 11th IAPR International Conference on Biometrics

The 11th IAPR International Conference on Biometrics (ICB 2018), technically co-sponsored by IAPR ( Technical Committee on Biometrics – TC4, International Association for Pattern Recognition), IEEE (Biometrics Council), and APRS (Australian Pattern Recognition Society), is the premier forum for the presentation of new advances and research results in the fields of biometrics. In the year 2018, we are proud to present this event in one of the most beautiful places in Australia.

  • World First Face Tags for ICB2018. As our scientific community wishes to promote and popularize biometrics and demonstrate its applications, we have developed a World First Application of robust face recognition just for ICB2018. Scientists have given these systems a boost substantial enough to recognize individuals with partially covered faces
  • For attendees who would like to print posters in Gold Coast, the service is available through Officeworks. The closest Officework shop is at 59 Nerang Street, Southport, QLD 4215, which is about 11 minutes drive or 17 minutes by tram from Mantra on View. The tram station is 3 minutes walk from the hotel. You can either lodge the printing task online or onsite. We suggest you submit the printing job early to avoid any delay.

  • Mr. Stephen Gee, an Assistant Secretary in the Australian Passport Office has agreed to join ICB 2018 as a keynote speaker. The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has more than 25 million biometric facial images, which is more than any other entity in Australia, and that figure is growing at 2 million annually – around 8000 a day.
  • The registration website is online. Each accepted paper must be supported by an author registration by the early bird registration deadline (15 December 2017).

  • Prof. Svetha Venkatesh from Deakin University has agreed to join ICB 2018 as a keynote speaker.

  • The paper submission deadline for Special Session of Recent Advancement on Ocular Biometrics has been extended to 7 November 2017.
